The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced that it will stage a protest on June 6 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi in the national capital, calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Speaking at its inaugural press conference on Wednesday (June 3, 2026), the movement’s spokespersons said the demonstration is intended to press their demand for accountability. Spokesperson Saurav Das stated, “We seek minimum accountability from this system where rot has set in.”

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has faced criticism in recent days over alleged paper leaks and the cancellation of NEET-UG, as well as concerns surrounding issues in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s new on-screen evaluation system for Class 12 examinations.

Abhijeet Dipke, who launched the CJP’s social media presence last month and has since attracted millions of followers, is expected to arrive in Delhi from the United States on Saturday morning. According to spokesperson Saurav Das, he will then approach the Parliament Street police station to seek permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. Das, a journalist who along with two others was appointed CJP spokesperson this week, shared these details.

Addressing the planned demonstration, Das dismissed the recent transfers of the CBSE Chairman and Secretary as a “mere eyewash,” adding that the government has not engaged with their concerns despite repeated attempts. He urged citizens from all political backgrounds to participate in the June 6 protest without party or organisational banners, calling for Pradhan’s resignation.

Another spokesperson, Vijeta Dahiya, who is also a filmmaker, said, “We are living in absurd times where I have to explain why he must resign. We have this strange idea of democracy—voting once every five years, choosing leaders, and waiting for the next election. But democracy must be dynamic. Our representatives should reflect the needs and concerns of the people; they are not kings but employees, and if they fail in their duties, they must be questioned.”

Das clarified that the CJP, which has amassed over 22 million followers on Instagram, is not taking fixed positions beyond its current focus. “It is a 15-day-old movement that began as satire,” he said. “We have already observed irregularities in five examinations, and addressing these remains our priority. Beyond this, we will continue engaging with young people and raising relevant issues.”
